Care and Maintenance
Equally important is the appropriate use and correct maintenance of the product. You can find important tips in our care instructions.
Outdoor Upholstery and Inserts Cleaning + Care + Tips
- To prevent embedded dirt stains, use a soft-bristle brush to regularly dust off and remove dirt from the fabric.
- For everyday stains:
- Use a mild cleaner with warm water or Fabric Cleaner along with a soft-bristle brush. Rinse thoroughly.
- Position cushions on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped to allow proper water drainage.
- Once completely dry, apply Fabric Protector to repel dirt and moisture.
- For mold and mildew:
- Soak in a 1:20 solution of bleach to water and wash with diluted dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly.
- For effective mold and mildew removal, use a power washer with a pressure of 1200 PSI. Hold the power washer approximately 30" away from the cushion. Position cushions on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped for proper water drainage. Gently wash away mold and mildew.
- For teak wood oil surfacing on cushions, use Fabric Cleaner along with a power washer (1200 PSI) or a soft-bristle brush.
- Professional cleaning may be necessary for set-in stains and severe mildew.
- Clean furniture periodically and always before storage.
- Rinse furniture weekly in saltwater environments to remove salt residue.
- Avoid letting water stand on the furniture and cushions.
- Utilize our custom furniture covers for items when not in use, ensuring that furniture cushions and covers are clean and dry before covering.
Powder Coated Aluminum Cleaning + Care + Tips
- Our metal furniture is meticulously handcrafted using extruded and cast aluminum components.
- The aluminum undergoes a baking process with a resilient polyester powder coat.
- To ensure robust joints, the frames are meticulously assembled with precise welds and reinforced stress points.
- While highly resistant to rust, powder coated aluminum may experience oxidation if the coating is scratched or damaged.
- Furniture exposed to high salt levels in coastal areas, water with elevated pH levels, or garden pesticides can suffer finish damage if not regularly maintained.
- Darker finishes absorb more UV rays than lighter ones, resulting in warmth when touched, potentially accelerating fading if left uncovered.
- The longevity of your finish is directly linked to your commitment to care and maintenance.
- Regularly clean the furniture using a soft towel and mild soap.
- Minor surface scratches can be addressed with Aluminum Touch-Up kits.
- Avoid using harsh solvent-based, abrasive, or stainless steel cleaners.
- In coastal areas, wash the furniture frequently with mild soap and rinse thoroughly to remove salt deposits.
- For water spots, use a solution of equal parts white distilled vinegar and water. Rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
- Apply wax to the metal furniture twice a year or as needed to protect the finish. Clean the furniture before waxing.
- Use coasters under glasses and cold drink cans to prevent condensation and water spots.
- Place felt pads under objects that will remain on the tabletop for extended periods, especially on natural stone materials or items that retain moisture.
- Prevent standing water on the furniture surface to avoid water spots.
- Refrain from dragging furniture on the ground to prevent scratches and chips that may lead to oxidation.
- When not in use, utilize our custom furniture covers for optimal protection. Ensure that furniture cushions and covers are clean and dry before covering.
- If covering the frames for more than a few days, remove the cushions to prevent mold and mildew buildup.
- In case of wet cushions, position them on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped to ensure thorough water drainage.
