Avalon Teak Daybed
Inspired by the relaxed surf culture of Avalon Beach in Australia, the Avalon Daybed embodies the effortless comfort and breezy elegance of coastal living. Designed for those who love wide-open lounges, warm sun, and long unwinding moments outdoors, this daybed serves as the true centerpiece for any outdoor lounge environment.
Built from sustainably sourced solid Indonesian teak, each frame is handcrafted in our workshop to highlight the natural grain and durability of this premium hardwood. Teak has long been considered the gold standard for outdoor furniture due to its innate resistance to moisture, rot, and warping. Whether left to develop its iconic silvery patina or maintained for a warm honey tone, teak brings both strength and beauty to any outdoor environment.
This outdoor daybed has a modern silhouette, enhanced by double-layered woven Olefin rope wrapped around the back and arms. This all-weather rope adds texture, depth, and breathable comfort while seamlessly blending with coastal, modern, or organic outdoor aesthetics. The rope is engineered to resist fading, moisture absorption, and fraying, ensuring year-round performance.
For ultimate relaxation, this patio daybed includes one large seat cushion and two plush knife-edge back cushions. The seat is crafted with quick-dry flow-through foam, wrapped in Dacron for a soft sink-in feel while ensuring fast moisture release after rain or cleaning. The cushions are fully weather-resistant—engineered to withstand mildew, UV fading, and outdoor stains.
With its wide seating area and generous proportions, the Avalon Daybed comfortably accommodates multiple loungers, making it ideal for patios, pool decks, covered lanais, and modern cabana spaces. Its versatility makes it equally suited for reading, lounging, napping, or simply soaking in the outdoor atmosphere.
For long-term preservation—especially for Gray Teak finishes, which naturally weather and develop marks or cracks—custom exterior furniture covers are strongly recommended. This minimizes aging while preserving the natural beauty of the materials. For custom orders, contact trade@shopboxhill.com.
The Avalon Daybed brings the warmth of teak, the resilience of Olefin rope, and the serenity of coastal design into a luxurious, inviting outdoor sanctuary.

Care + Maintenance
Teak
-
Maintain the original quality of the teak by applying Teak Cleaner at the beginning and end of each season.
-
To keep the surfaces clean from dirt, mold and mildew, periodically hose with water and Teak Cleaner, scrubbing in the directions of the grain.
-
For stubborn areas, use a power washer to clean. Hold the power washer approximately 30” away from the furniture and do not exceed 1200 PSI. Rinse and then allow to sun dry.
-
Exposure to moisture over time can raise the wood grain.
- A light sanding with fine 120-grit sandpaper smooths the surface.
Upholstery and Inserts
- To prevent embedded dirt stains, use a soft-bristle brush to frequently dust and remove dirt from the fabric.
For everyday stains:
- Use a mild cleaner with warm water or Fabric Cleaner and a soft-bristle brush and rinse thoroughly.
- Tip cushions on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped to ensure that all water drains.
- Once completely dry, apply cushion covers and follow our tips below to repel dirt and moisture.
For mold and mildew:
- Soak cushions in a 1:20 bleach-to-water solution, wash with diluted dishwashing liquid, and rinse thoroughly.
- Power wash at 1200 PSI only; higher pressure can damage fibers. Keep the washer about 30 inches away from the cushion.
- After washing, tip cushions on their sides with the zipper unzipped and facing down to let all water drain.
Olefin Rope
-
For spot cleaning: Brush off any dirt or debris with a soft bristle brush or spray off with a hose.
-
For a deeper cleaning: Mix warm water with a mild soap and clean with a soft bristle brush.
-
Do not use abrasive cleansers.
- Rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
Special Considerations
"Gray Teak" is solid teak wood finished with a solution that expedites the aging process of teak to a natural silver tone. Over time, the natural weathering of Gray Teak will cause its appearance to change in color and texture, with possible marks and cracks. By ordering Gray Teak, you accept these characteristics and agree that no claim will be approved regarding the natural aging process of teak or the special color qualities associated with the Gray Teak finish. Special care should be taken to protect this natural finish.
