The BOXHILL Fire Pit Snuffer Cover is a refined, functional solution designed to safely extinguish flames while protecting your fire pit between uses. More than a simple cover, it enhances fire control, preserves unburned wood, and keeps your fire pit clean, dry, and ready for the next gathering. Thoughtfully proportioned and crafted in the USA, this piece balances utility with understated design—making it an essential companion to any well-considered outdoor fire feature.
Expertly welded and assembled from heavy-duty carbon steel, the snuffer cover is engineered to withstand high temperatures and outdoor exposure. The top surface is finished with a high-heat, electrostatically applied black coating, offering durability where it matters most—directly above the flame—while maintaining a clean, minimal aesthetic.
To enhance safety and handling, a black high-temperature plastic gasket is installed along the outer edge. This detail prevents exposed sharp edges and allows the cover to sit securely over the fire pit opening. The cover is weather resistant, helping shield the interior of your fire pit from moisture, leaves, and debris.
Each snuffer cover is intentionally sized larger than the interior diameter of the fire pit to ensure proper coverage. For optimal fit, we recommend selecting a size that is 4″ larger than your fire pit’s inside dimension. This allows the cover to rest evenly on the perimeter, effectively cutting off oxygen to extinguish the fire more efficiently. For projects requiring alternative finishes, the cover is also available in 304 stainless steel.

Installation & Placement
Using the snuffer cover is simple and intuitive. Once flames have reduced, place the cover flat over the fire pit opening to safely snuff out the fire by limiting oxygen flow. This process shortens burn time and helps preserve partially burned wood for future use.
Always allow the cover to cool completely before handling or removing. When the fire pit is not in use, many customers choose to leave the cover in place, where it doubles as a clean, stable tabletop surface—adding versatility to your outdoor setup.
For care, clean with a damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners that could compromise the finish. When not in use for extended periods, store the cover in a dry area to prolong its lifespan and maintain its appearance.
