CUBIST Outdoor Teak Lounger
The CUBIST Outdoor Teak Lounger is a sculptural expression of Danish modernism — where geometric precision meets relaxed outdoor living. Part of Bodil Kjær’s Outdoor Series inspired by Cubist forms and contemporary architecture, this daybed-style lounger delivers structural clarity softened by the warmth of natural teak. Designed to feel equally at home poolside, on an expansive terrace, or within a curated indoor-outdoor setting, the CUBIST Lounger embodies architectural restraint paired with generous comfort.
Minimal in silhouette yet substantial in presence, it invites extended lounging in a refined, modern environment.
Crafted from solid FSC-certified untreated teak, the CUBIST Lounger is built for enduring performance in outdoor conditions. Teak’s dense grain and high natural oil content provide natural resistance to moisture and environmental changes without chemical treatment. Over time, untreated teak will develop a distinguished silver-gray patina when exposed to the elements, enhancing its sculptural character.
The lounger’s defining form is its clean linear frame — composed with precision joinery that reinforces both strength and design continuity across the CUBIST collection. The slatted surface allows for airflow and drainage, supporting outdoor longevity while maintaining architectural integrity.
Optional cushions (sold separately) are upholstered in premium Sunbrella® fabric, available in Charcoal or Canvas. Engineered for exterior use, Sunbrella textiles resist fading, mildew, and moisture while maintaining a tailored, modern aesthetic and supportive comfort.

Special Considerations – Untreated Teak
This is crafted from solid, untreated FSC-certified teak. As a living material, teak will naturally respond to its environment.
-
Natural Weathering: If left untreated, teak will gradually develop a soft silver-gray patina when exposed to sun and moisture. This process is purely aesthetic and does not affect structural integrity.
-
Surface Changes: Hairline cracks, checking, and subtle movement may occur as the wood expands and contracts with temperature and humidity changes. These characteristics are normal and part of solid hardwood performance.
-
Color Variation: Each piece will feature natural tonal variation and grain differences, making every table unique.
Care + Maintenance
- To maintain the warm golden-brown tone, apply teak oil periodically.
- To allow for natural aging, simply clean with mild soap and water as needed.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or pressure washing, which can damage the wood fibers.
Storage: For extended longevity, cover or store in a dry, ventilated space during extreme weather conditions.
Untreated teak is chosen intentionally for its durability and its ability to age with character — evolving beautifully over time.
