Originally crafted with a “flamed” glaze of green, brown, and yellow, Anduze Outdoor Planter Ivory features heraldic shields and floral garlands with horizontal bands. Since the 17th century, Anduze has been known for producing these iconic outdoor planters, home to generations of skilled potters. Among them, Terre d’Anduze, a family-run workshop, has been handcrafting these outdoor planters since 1980. Available in various vibrant glazes, they add classic elegance to gardens and orangeries across France’s grand châteaux and estates.
This pottery is hand-selected from the most sought-after workshops in Impruneta (a commune in the Florence province of Italy). Produced by the best workshops who only employ master artisans, the level of quality is unparalleled. Each workshop is one that both produces and sells terra cotta inside the Impruneta zone. (Lesser workshops produce their pottery outside of the area, yet maintain an Impruneta showroom for the address.) Our terra cotta is heirloom quality, and it will increase in value over time. Terra Cotta Pots

These beautiful terra cotta outdoor pots are frost-proof down to -20*F. We recommend that you lift the pots off of the ground (via pot feet, wedges, or wooden blocks) so there is at least an inch between the drainage hole and the ground for colder weather. Leave soil in the pots during the winter months, and avoid using saucers to keep the drainage holes clear.

Care
It is essential that water can drain freely from your garden container’s drainage holes. We recommend a sheet of filter screen over the drainage holes and adding 2-3 inches of crushed stone at the bottom of the container before filling with a potting soil intended for use in containers. In winter, ensure that the container is elevated an inch or more off the ground with pot feet or wedges. Use of saucers outdoors in winter is not recommended.
