Cove Teak Outdoor 3 Seat Sofa
The Boxhill Cove Teak Outdoor 3 Seat Sofa is part of the Cove collection, developed to meet the requirements of modern outdoor living spaces. The collection emphasizes durability, proportional design, and material performance suitable for residential patios, terraces, poolside areas, and covered commercial outdoor settings. The sofa is designed to function as a primary seating element while maintaining compatibility with other pieces in the Cove range.
The frame is constructed from solid teak wood with a natural teak finish. Teak is selected for outdoor use due to its high oil content, density, and resistance to moisture, insects, and decay. Each teak frame displays natural variation in grain and color. Over time, exposure to sunlight and weather will cause the teak to age naturally into a silver-grey patina. Seasonal temperature and humidity changes may lead to expansion and contraction, resulting in hairline cracks at joints or within the grain. These changes are expected characteristics of solid teak and do not affect the structural integrity of the sofa. In humid or wet conditions, natural oils may rise to the surface and appear as temporary stains, which typically subside over time.
The sofa includes upholstered seat and back cushions available in Panama or Copacabana fabric. These fabrics are made from 100% solution-dyed acrylic, providing resistance to fading, stains, and mildew. Cushion inserts feature a poly-foam core wrapped in a poly-casing designed to reduce water penetration. Reticulated foam construction allows water to drain efficiently, supporting faster drying after rain or cleaning. Regular maintenance helps preserve fabric performance and extend cushion lifespan.
The overall dimensions of the sofa are 96 inches in width, 31.5 inches in depth, and 32 inches in height. The seat height measures 17.8 inches, and the arm height is 25 inches, offering balanced comfort and support for extended outdoor use. The total weight is approximately 88.2 lbs, providing stability while allowing for repositioning within outdoor layouts.
Installation involves placing the sofa on a flat, level surface to ensure even weight distribution. For care and maintenance, clean the teak frame periodically using water and a teak cleaner, brushing in the direction of the grain. For stubborn buildup, a power washer may be used at a distance of approximately 30 inches and not exceeding 1200 PSI. Allow the frame to dry completely. Raised grain caused by moisture exposure can be smoothed with light sanding using 120-grit sandpaper. Upholstery should be brushed regularly to remove surface dirt and cleaned with mild soap and warm water. Wet cushions should be removed from the frame and dried separately to reduce mold and mildew risk.

Teak
Finish: Teak
- One of the highlights of natural teak is its beauty and grain. Each teak piece is unique.
- Depending on climate and exposure to elements, teak weathers to a beautiful silver-grey finish over time.
- The wood will expand and contract with changes in climate. Shrinking of the wood can result in hairline cracks in the assembly joints or the grain itself. This does not affect the structural integrity of the frame’s construction.
- The natural oils in teak may rise to the surface if exposed to rain and humidity, appearing like water stains.
- Oil content can vary between pieces, so oil surfacing may recur multiple times before it naturally subsides over a period of several months.

Fabric:
Copacabana is a 100% Olefin fabric milled in Indonesia, offering exceptional weather resistance, faster drying, and greater mold resistance than polyester. Sourced from Sunproof by Ateja, it’s made from fully recyclable, eco-friendly materials and pairs beautifully with our sustainably sourced Indonesian teak furniture.
Milled in Spain from 100% solution-dyed acrylic yarn, this fabric resists sun, moisture, mildew, and staining—making it a true workhorse for outdoor living. Its flat, consistent square weave gives it a lightweight yet substantial feel, built to handle the elements with ease. Sourced from Tuvatextil’s Agora range, Panama is stocked widely across our collections and comes in five colorways.

Care + Maintenance
Teak
- Maintain the original quality of the teak by applying Teak Cleaner at the beginning and end of each season.
To keep the surfaces clean from dirt, mold and mildew, periodically hose with water and Teak Cleaner, scrubbing in the directions of the grain.
- For stubborn areas, use a power washer to clean. Hold the power washer approximately 30” away from the furniture and do not exceed 1200 PSI. Rinse and then allow to sun dry.
- Exposure to moisture over time can raise the wood grain.
- A light sanding with fine 120-grit sandpaper smooths the surface.
Upholstery + Inserts
To prevent embedded dirt stains, use a soft-bristle brush to frequently dust and remove dirt from the fabric.
- Use a mild cleaner with warm water or Fabric Cleaner and a soft-bristle brush and rinse thoroughly.
- Tip cushions on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped to ensure that all water drains.
Recommendations
- Furniture should be cleaned periodically and always before storing.
- If furniture is in a saltwater environment, rinse weekly to remove all salt.
- Avoid letting water stand on the surface of furniture and cushions.
- As with all purchases, we recommend using our custom furniture covers for items when not in use; furniture cushions and covers should be clean and dry before covering.
Special Considerations
"Gray Teak" is solid teak wood finished with a solution that expedites the aging process of teak to a natural silver tone. Over time, the natural weathering of Gray Teak will cause its appearance to change in color and texture, with possible marks and cracks. By ordering Gray Teak, you accept these characteristics and agree that no claim will be approved regarding the natural aging process of teak or the special color qualities associated with the Gray Teak finish. Special care should be taken to protect this natural finish.
