The Quoin Planter is crafted from two high-performance outdoor materials: architectural-grade phenolic and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). These materials are widely used in commercial and architectural applications due to their strength, weather resistance, and minimal maintenance requirements.

HDPE panels are made from recycled high-density polyethylene and formed into dense, structurally stable boards designed for long-term outdoor exposure. The material is fully waterproof and resistant to UV rays, moisture, and corrosion. Unlike traditional wood planters, HDPE will not crack, splinter, warp, or require refinishing over time. Its solid construction maintains color consistency throughout the material, ensuring a clean appearance even after years of use.

The phenolic surfaces add structural rigidity and refined texture. Produced by compressing FSC-certified kraft paper saturated in phenolic resin under high pressure, this architectural material is engineered for exterior performance. Materials

HDPE Finishes

Our HDPE Finishes are made from recycled high-density polyethylene, a durable material designed for long-term outdoor use. The recycled plastic is formed into dense panels that are structurally stable, impact-resistant, and color consistent throughout.

HDPE is waterproof, UV-resistant, and resistant to rot, corrosion, and moisture. It will not crack, splinter, or require sealing or painting, even in harsh climates. At the end of its lifecycle, it can be recycled again, supporting a circular material system.

Available in six colors: white, black, charcoal, slate, indigo, and basil.

Phenolic Finishes

Our Phenolic Finishes are made from architectural-grade phenolic, originally developed for exterior cladding and façade applications. It is constructed from FSC-certified kraft paper saturated in phenolic resin and compressed under high pressure with exterior-grade laminate layers.

The result is a material with exceptional strength, rigidity, and dimensional stability. Phenolic resists warping, cracking, splintering, and delamination while maintaining its appearance without refinishing or treatments.

Available in three wood finishes: natural oak, madison walnut, and loft ash.

Care Instructions

Simply wipe down with soapy water and washcloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or anything abrasive, such as a scouring pad, as that may dull the material. All pieces are scratch resistant, waterproof and will never need to be refinished or painted.
