Nanna Ditzel AluRattan Outdoor Hanging Egg Chair
Designed by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel in 1959, the Hanging Egg Exterior chair is a critically acclaimed Scandinavian classic, among the first chairs to integrate a sculptural shell and frame as a single, body-conscious piece. Rectangular in footprint and instantly recognizable, the chair is handcrafted in Alu-Rattan, weather-resistant powder-coated aluminum, and ArtFibre, a polyethylene-based artificial fiber, giving it the strength and durability to remain outdoors year-round without compromising its iconic silhouette. Commonly specified by architects and designers for both private residences and hospitality projects worldwide, the Hanging Egg Exterior pairs an enduring design legacy with the performance expected of commercial-grade outdoor furniture.

Design / Use Context
Recognized in private residences and hospitality projects alike, the Hanging Egg Exterior chair brings a sculptural, body-conscious silhouette to gardens, terraces, and lounge areas where architectural character is part of the brief. Its integrated shell-and-frame construction creates an enveloping seat that functions as both a comfortable lounging spot and a visual centerpiece within the surrounding landscape design. Finished with a seat cushion available in a range of colors, or in a client-supplied fabric, the chair adapts to a wide range of residential and hospitality settings while retaining the same enduring design first introduced in 1959.
