• Over time and depending on climate and exposure, teak weathers to an exquisite silver-grey patina.
• The wood may expand and contract with climate variations, resulting in hairline cracks in the assembly joints or the grain.
• This does not compromise the frame's structural integrity.
• Exposure to rain and humidity may cause the natural oils in teak to rise to the surface, resembling water stains.
• Oil content can differ among pieces, so oil surfacing may occur multiple times before gradually subsiding over several months.

Outdoor Upholstery and Inserts

• Our fabrics are crafted from 100% solution-dyed acrylic.
• All fabrics are resistant to stains, mildew, and fading, making them easy to care for and suitable for various weather conditions.
• While our outdoor upholstery fabrics are mildew resistant, environments with dirt and moisture can foster mold and mildew growth.
• To prevent mold and mildew, always remove wet cushions from furniture frames and perform regular cleaning and maintenance.
• All cushion upholstery and cushion cores comply with CA TB117-2013 regulations.
• Cushion inserts consist of a poly-foam core wrapped in a poly-casing to prevent water penetration.

Natural Teak Cleaning + Care + Tips

• Periodically hose down the surfaces with water and Teak Cleaner, scrubbing along the grain direction to remove dirt, mold, and mildew.
• Preserve the original quality of teak by applying Teak Cleaner at the start and end of each season.
• Moisture exposure can cause the wood grain to rise. Use fine 120-grit sandpaper for light sanding to restore a smooth surface.
• For stubborn areas, use a power washer with a pressure not exceeding 1200 PSI. Hold the power washer approximately 30" away from the furniture. Rinse and allow the furniture to dry under the sun.
• Clean furniture periodically and always before storage.
• Rinse furniture weekly in saltwater environments to remove salt residue.
• Avoid leaving standing water on the furniture and cushions.
• Utilize our custom furniture covers for items when not in use, ensuring that furniture cushions and covers are clean and dry before covering.

Outdoor Upholstery and Inserts Cleaning + Care + Tips

• To prevent embedded dirt stains, use a soft-bristle brush to regularly dust off and remove dirt from the fabric.
• For everyday stains:
• Use a mild cleaner with warm water or Fabric Cleaner along with a soft-bristle brush. Rinse thoroughly.
• Position cushions on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped to allow proper water drainage.
• Once completely dry, apply Fabric Protector to repel dirt and moisture.
• For mold and mildew:
• Soak in a 1:20 solution of bleach to water and wash with diluted dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly.
• For effective mold and mildew removal, use a power washer with a pressure of 1200 PSI. Hold the power washer approximately 30" away from the cushion. Position cushions on their sides with the zipper facing down and unzipped for proper water drainage. Gently wash away mold and mildew.
• For teak wood oil surfacing on cushions, use Fabric Cleaner along with a power washer (1200 PSI) or a soft-bristle brush.
• Professional cleaning may be necessary for set-in stains and severe mildew.
• Clean furniture periodically and always before storage.
• Rinse furniture weekly in saltwater environments to remove salt residue.
• Avoid letting water stand on the furniture and cushions.
• Utilize our custom furniture covers for items when not in use, ensuring that furniture cushions and covers are clean and dry before covering.

Special Considerations

"Gray Teak" is solid teak wood finished with a solution that expedites the aging process of teak to a natural silver tone. Over time, the natural weathering of Gray Teak will cause its appearance to change in color and texture, with possible marks and cracks. By ordering Gray Teak, you accept these characteristics and agree that no claim will be approved regarding the natural aging process of teak or the special color qualities associated with the Gray Teak finish. Special care should be taken to protect this natural finish.
